Doug Curella Jr. was recently announced the successor to longtime Clarence Soccer Club executive director Sherry Frost, who retired after serving 16 years in the position.

Frost was the first to hold the position, which was created in 2003 to enhance the administration of the club.

Curella comes to the position prepared with extensive knowledge of the workings of the club. He was a player in the club and is currently a coach for its U14 Boys Black and U9 Boys Red teams.

Curella has been the travel director for the past two years. In 2018, Curella’s U13 Boys Black team made history by being the first team in the history of the Clarence Soccer Club to advance to the final four of the State Cup, hosted by New York State West.

In addition, Curella has many ties to the Clarence community. The lifelong Clarence resident is an attorney who currently serves as a confidential law clerk to a Supreme Court and Court of Claims Judge. He sits on the board of directors for the SPCA Serving Erie County and the Center for Elder Law and Justice.

Curella is also a member of the Good Government Club and the Center for Sustainable Communities and Civic Engagement at Daemen College.
