The Little Critters program is designed to introduce new players to organized sports and team activities. Soccer is the perfect sport for this! Your little ones will be exposed to team activities and games that keep in mind the attention span and abilities of our youngest (and smallest) new athletes. This program does not include end-to-end soccer games with goals. It will focus on beginner skills, agility, and most of all... FUN!
The format is as follows: We will meet as a big group to start each session with a warm-up. After warm up, we will divide into our teams with each team starting at a different skill station. After some time at that station they will then rotate to the next station, etc. Each station is designed to focus on different soccer skills and have some fun too.
The stations are staffed by middle school and/or high school volunteers and overseen by Adult Volunteers. But parents are encouraged to get involved as much as possible (playing the games, encouraging the Critters, helping out when needed) so please stick around and be part of the fun. Following each session, we will bring all athletes and parents together for a final Critters cheer!
Our Little Critters program will be starting Saturday, August 17th. We will then meet every Saturday for six total weeks (8/17 - 9/21). Each session lasts 1 hour, with start times to be assigned at either 9:00am or 10:00am. Each Little Critter will be assigned to a team and each player gets their very own Timbits jersey!
Please have all athletes wear sneakers, bring a water bottle and a size 3 ball if available to you. Soccer balls are available for purchase ($5). There is a minimal supply, so it is first come, first serve until we are out.
